MY-ROBOT is the affiliated partner of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and MOE. We first conducted this competition in 2019, this would be our second year to conduct this competition. My-Robot Scratch Cup 2020’s goal is to cultivate the interest and enhance the involvement of our students in coding ability. We welcome students aged 7 to 15 to take part to showcase their talent.

WHY CODING?

Coding drives innovation. From self-driving cars to robot-assisted surgery to social media, computer science is revolutionizing every aspect of our lives. Coding is a fundamental skill that children needs to learn so they can lead this movement. Coding is a basic literacy in the digital age, and it is important for kids to understand and be able to work with an understanding the technology around them. MY-ROBOT plays a role to prepare the learning of coding at a younger age in order for them to be prepared for the future technologies. Coding helps to develop problem solving, analytical thinking, reasoning as well as math and language skills. They would develop good traits such as perseverance, trial and error and understanding of cause and effect and so on. It also challenges children to think creatively and to pursue innovative ideas and solutions.

WHY SCRATCH?

Scratch is an ideal tool for teaching kids how to code. Furthermore, it incorporates into government school curriculum Asas Sains Computer (ASK) in KSSM. MRTScratch is a tranquil and virtual to develop interactive games and children can use MRTScratch to learn while creating for their own games.

IS IT EXTRAORDINARY?

The speciality of this competition will be the integration between scratch coding and our robotics blocks that allows the students to convert their codes into the real effect of lights and sounds which create the visibility in the physical world. This will generate a satisfactory and develop greater passion for coding. Children are able to use MY ROBOT TIME product to enhance their gaming experience to the next level.
